September 3, 2009 -- Unmarked Cars

Unmarked Cars met up with me in the booth last Thursday for the first show of the Fall. I have to say, we had a lot of fun. I was having some technical problems (of course the first show can't go smoothly, it's a given), so I didn't have time to really prepare questions. Luckily the band was great with taking off on topics. Justin, I might add is a master of many accents, which had us all cracking up. We played seven songs off of A Guide to the Common Era, which I edited from the podcast because well, you should buy the CD! It will be available on iTunes and CD Baby soon. And we had so much to talk about that there's almost an hour of interview alone. They were supposed to have a show at The Deli that night with The Gunship, but The Gunship broke up and the show ended up being cancelled. Unmarked Cars will instead play The Deli October 17, so check 'em out!

This is a quick & sloppy edit of the show, and for that I apologize. I'll probably go back and re-edit the kinks at some point, but until then.....

The Last Show

Theatre Breaks Loose

We had a fun show today with Theatre Breaks Loose in the studio.  These guys are making some pretty catchy tunes and getting all the OKC ladies attention (I mean look at that picture!) We played their new album in its entirety as well as got a couple of acoustic songs from them. And then, out of nowhere, local rapper (originally from New Jersey) Croce aka The Lyrical Mozart, stopped by.  He just wanted to know how he could get his music on the radio station.  I staged an audition for him live on the show and asked him to throw down his best stuff.
